Make a mixture of water, vinegar, sugar, salt, and spices like coriander to make it happen. Heat it until it boils. On cooling, cut the ripped avocados into halves and then remove the peels and pit. Transfer them into a jar and then add a layer of the vinegar mixture.

Refrigerate it at least for some hours, but 1 or 2 days are better. Its color will die away with time.  Then, the avocados should be immersed in the vinegar mixture. Hot water and pressurized canning should not be used for avocado pickles.

Can you freeze Avocado?

When avocados are whole, they could get brown and very syrupy. Freezing is one way to preserve avocados, but before freezing them, there are some things you need to do.

Cut the avocados into halves, or you can also cut smaller pieces if you want. Cover the cut pieces or chunks with lemon or lime juice, which would stop them from getting brown. Then wrap them with a plastic wrap sheet or you can also use a plastic seal bag and seal it with a vacuum sealer labeled with dates to measure the time duration.

How long does Avocado last?

A firm, green Avocado will rip in at most 4 to 5 days by just putting it in at room temperature. When Avocado is ripped, it would only be edible for the next two days, whether you eat it or you can store it in the refrigerator as a whole. It would be safe in the refrigerator for up to 2 to 3 days.

How to Tell If Avocado Is Bad

  • By looking at the outer skin, if there is a visible mold or it has a rotten smell, then the Avocado is bad and is not edible.
  • Different ranges of avocados have different skin colors. Like Hass, the most common variety of avocados, when ripped, changes its color to dark green or purple. If it has change into black color, then it may have over ripped and isn’t edible.
  • The quickest way to find out if the Avocado is gone bad is to cut it open and determine its flesh color. If it is black or brown, then the Avocado is gone bad and should be discarded.
